Established as the Cornwall Heights School in 1867 by Reverend Louis P. Ledoux, an Amherst graduate and pastor of the Cornwall Presbyterian Church, the school later was known as the Stone School when it was directed by Dr. Carlos H. Stone. The present name, The Storm King School, dates from 1923, when Alvan R. Duerr was headmaster and took the name from the mountain where the school is located.

The Storm King School inspires students toward academic strength and confidence. We offer a caring faculty and community that embrace character, balance, and trust.
