Steevie's Notes

Known by all as "Steevie," Ms. Chinitz has worked in many private and public schools over the course of her career and has served as Head/Principal in widely differing schools all around our country.  The 2011-2012 school year is Steevie’s tenth year at The Storm King School.  A squash, racquetball, kayaking, and croquet enthusiast, she nevertheless tries to spend as much time as possible on her small farm in Delaware County. She reads voraciously, writes a bit of poetry, participates in "Early Music" groups and barbershop groups, and helps arts organizations in local venues. Up early most mornings, she enjoys hiking in Black Rock Forest with her chocolate lab, Batu. To round out the weeks, she attends New York City museums and concert halls, and enjoys her two grandchildren. Serving as the first female Head of School at Storm King is a delight to her.
