SKS is a student-led community that nurtures sharing, respect, trust, and love.

Every day at SKS, our students are immersed in a variety of educational programs and experiential activities both inside and outside the classroom.  Calculated and thoughtful risk-taking is rewarded as students develop and pursue their academic and personal passions.  Our community strives to offer exceptional learning, character-building, and skill-development opportunities.  In other words, we believe that learning is serious fun!

To give our students the confidence they need to reach their potential, we are committed to a healthy, structured, diverse, multi-cultural environment that encourages self-discipline and self-esteem. Our students build close friendships with each other that last a lifetime. They form strong bonds among the faculty that extend beyond graduation and even reach from generation to generation.

At Storm King, teachers and students interact from breakfast until lights out at night. Our teachers serve as coaches, advisors and dorm parents, and most of them live alongside the students "on the mountain." The teachers see all sides of our students because they are on the athletic field, in the theatre, organizing an impromptu trip to the pizza parlor, or making sure the computers are shutdown for the night. 

We delight in the progress and growth of each student. At the end of the journey, when our students have gained the knowledge and competence to become life-long learners, we celebrate their success.
