2012-2013 Student and Parent Handbook

At The Storm King School, we are a community of scholars, athletes and artists. The Dean of Students Office links the different aspects of student life through community-building activities and protections. The relationship between the Dean of Students Office and our student body is an important one—we strive to bring out the very best in each of our students by guiding them in the choices they make and by providing for their physical, emotional and intellectual well-being.  We have high expectations for our young men and women, both in and out of the classroom, and we are continually impressed by their accomplishments. 

We support our students through mentoring, advising, and fostering social skills. We want to do everything we can to help our students grow to be mature, independent individuals. We also provide leadership opportunities in activities, clubs, in-service and risk-taking ventures, which encourage students to be positive contributors to our school.

We believe that the SKS students in our charge and under our protection will graduate as capable, confident young adults, eager to manage themselves in any environment.
